ABOUT ME |
From their trendy blending studio in Leith, Edinburgh, Woven is on a mission to redefine what blended whisky can be, one experience at a time.
Founded by five friends with years racked up in the industry, Woven is an independent blender taking an artistic approach to Scotch whisky making. Their bottles are released as small batch ‘experiences’, each inspired by the people, places and culture that make up the fabric of modern Scotland.
Experience N.9, their ninth release, is a love letter to Woven’s hometown of Leith, a vibrant melting pot of people and industries, seafarers and creatives – juxtapositions that combine to make this coastal port town a quirky, exciting neighbourhood.
As such the whisky combines a five-year-old Campbeltown ‘superblend’ with both youthful and ‘eye-wateringly old’ grain whisky from Loch Lomond distillery, and sherry cask-finished single malt from Glentauchers distillery in Speyside.
The result is a waxy, honeyed and vibrantly tropical blend with notes of citrus, banana and spice. It’s designed to be perfect sipped neat or mixed in a highball (we like ours with ginger beer for a spicy kick), or served as a hauf ’n’ hauf with a tropical IPA. For the ultimate Leith experience, seek out Pilot’s IPA, a juicy, dry-hopped ale with notes of pineapple and grapefruit.
